I am trying to install Ubuntu as my new operating system replacing my Windows XP SP2 but the problem is that neither Ubuntu CD nor Ubuntu USB (made by Unetbootin) are able to recognize my PS/2 mouse.

Could you please tell me how to fix this problem, even if it means using a USB mouse?
I really wanna try Ubuntu and I don't want to install it using WUBI because I want to use Ubuntu as a my main operating system.

Thank for your time reading this and I hope that you guys can help me out here.

Have you tried a USB mouse? – Mitch Aug 8 '12 at 1:04
PS/2 has two ports; one for the keyboard, and one for the mouse. Sometimes if you get them backwards, it works, and sometimes not. You might try switching and see if that helps. – psusi Aug 8 '12 at 4:30
