I'm very new on Ubuntu and I want to ask how to change resolution because my resolution is stuck at 1024x768 but in Windows I can set my resolution up to 1366x768.

I have use X server to change the resolution to 1366x768 but on the screen, my LCD just show 1280x768 and I have used xrandr too and the result is output VGA is not found and I tried VGA1, LVCD and other stuff but still not found a solution.

Another problem is on startup the splash screen is like a barcode no purple stuff or even the Ubuntu logo just white and black like barcode.
