I am new to the Ubuntu environment and I had installed 10.10 yesterday and then upgraded it to 11.04. Then I installed Java according to the instructions provided in the second answer of the following thread:

How do I install Oracle JDK 6?

It worked perfectly well, but after restarting my computer it hangs on boot. There are some threads with a similar problems that do not seems helpful to me like:

Ubuntu hangs on booting up after a update

Can someone help me out with this problem considering that I don't have enough knowledge of operating systems and environment?

Not an answer but maybe you should install the latest ubuntu 12.04. You might get better support. – benj Aug 6 '12 at 13:47
