I am new to Ubuntu.

I use ubuntu 12.04 and I'm aware that snap windows came from linux but was perfected by windows team. There are some bugs on ubuntu snap windows that is pretty annoying.

  1. When the window is mazimized and I try to minimize it by just dragging the top panel down, the window is actually 2 or 3 inches below your cursor on screen.

  2. When all of my windows are minimized and I try to open one of the windows, sometimes snap windows doesn't work. I shave to minimize all of my windows to make it work.

Is there a solution here to fix or prevent these kind of bugs?

Thanks for sharing annoying quirks. It helps developers identify issues so they can be fixed. However, this is not the right place for it. Bugs are filed on Launchpad.net. The easiest way to do so so to press Alt+F2 and enter "ubuntu-bug unity". That will collect some information about your hardware, prepare a good bug report for you and point you to the right page so you can easily add details. Reporting bugs is a valuable contribution. – Jo-Erlend Schinstad Aug 6 '12 at 7:56

ahm ok thanks for the reply. No offense but i thought in linux you can post your bug on the net and eventualy some kind hearted geek will help you? Doing what you say makes me feel that i was using windows. But anyway thanks – thenewbie Aug 6 '12 at 8:11
@emerson Thanks for editing my post.. Im not that good in english.. – thenewbie Aug 6 '12 at 8:12
Right. You post it on the web, on Launchpad.net. You have to provide detailed information about your system. Otherwise, bugs cannot be fixed. You can do that manually if you like, or you can use the automated tool that does it for you. This is just the wrong website whereas Launchpad.net is the right website. They are different tools. This has nothing to do with Linux or Windows, but how software development works. We all use tools. – Jo-Erlend Schinstad Aug 6 '12 at 9:50
Very useful resources about reporting bugs in Ubuntu: This documentation wiki page and this Ask Ubuntu question. – Eliah Kagan Aug 6 '12 at 11:03
