Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm new to Ubuntu, I just had a installation of Windows 7 and Windows 8 but they both crashed just today, so now I was wondering if I could just forget about Windows and install Ubuntu.

The problem is that I don't have DVD or CD, so I'm trying to install with a USB using the UNetbootin program and the universal USB loader. Any ways when I made the bootable USB using those programs, I tried to boot off the USB, which it does, but it freezes at "automatic boot in 1 second" mark and or when I press a button on my keyboard.

After the count down, the little command link comes up blinks forever and nothing happens. Help? I have an Acer aspire notebook and an Intel processor.

Did you download the correct iso for your architecture? 32-bit in your case. – To Do Aug 15 '12 at 12:06
