Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Can someone recommend which is the right option for 2 years experienced .Net developers to enhance their technical skills whether .Net Certifications or work experience in Open Source Projects apart from their day time job.

Say currently I am working in a company and devoting my free time during weekends to open source projects. Now if I specify this open source experience in my resume for my future jobs, will the open source experience in resume have any negative impact as I am also working in a company during the same period?

Since i am working in a company i can do only one among them due to time constraints. So really like to have your suggestions before i proceed.

From my experience you shouldn't choose career path by looking at your resume. Instead, you should do what makes your happy because that's the only way to do innovative code. It is painfully obvious when someone codes something because they had to because final result lacks heart and soul.
