I've already tried to forceupdate it several times.

After I log in, it goes dark, then I get the error message below.

Ideas?

That's strange, try replacing minecraft.jar, it's possible that there's a problem with it. I think you'll be able to keep your stats and settings, but just in case, make a backup.

  1. Go to your file browser,
  2. View>Show Hidden Files,
  3. Copy .minecraft into Documents and rename it without the period.
