Without fail, using the Super + W keyboard shortcut for Expo for the first time since starting up (specifically whenever compiz starts; restarting it without logging out does the same thing) makes the windows move and zoom in like crazy, and in a completely random way.

For example, with 3 windows currently open, Expo will randomly cause one to either disappear or zoom all the way in, either in the background or covering the other windows being displayed as normal. There would also be an empty space corresponding to where that bugged window was supposed to fall into.

This doesn't hapeen all the time, though. In fact, it usually only happens at exactly the first time Expo is used. What I do is quickly Esc Expo mode and open it again, and in less than a second all my windows are displayed as they should be, side-by-side.

Given that my workflow doesn't get disrupted that much, it still bugs me (no pun intended). Is there a reason why this happens, or does anyone else experience it? I'm running on 12.04 64-bit, and have fglrx installed.

I have the exact same issue. I'm using 64bit version. Do you have an Nvidia GPU using the proprietary driver? – jasonwert Aug 19 '12 at 15:28
@jasonwert, I use an AMD Fusion laptop; the APU on my HP dm1 is an E-450. – tjmeneses Aug 23 '12 at 1:20
