My Video card is burned. While using windows, I desactivate it and I use the integrated one. The problem that I want to install ubuntu. But the PC freezes in the start (when the logo appear). I think because he is trying to use burned graphic card. So how can I install ubuntu without using its GUI. Or for example in a safe mode ?

How did you deactivate the burned out card? in the BIOS? Did you remove the burned out card from the hardware, as well, so the BIOS and other system components don't register it? – The Lord of Time Aug 2 '12 at 14:23

As tijybba said, you should use the Alternate CD - called Text-based Installer in the link. The alternate CD uses an ncurses (almost like a GUI except without mouse support) interface to install.
