I have installed Ubuntu 12.04

When I turn on my computer from a previous Shut Down, it loads the boot loader and then into Ubuntu 12.04, I can see for a brief time the Ubuntu logo and the 5 dots, but then the screen goes off, (totally black), i still can see barely the Ubuntu logo and the 5 dots, after that i hear the click sound, that usually indicated that the system is ready to use, but the screen is still off (black).

While the screen is off i can type my password and log-in and i have to wait about 1 min for the screen to turn on. even when i don't log-in i would have to wait about 1 min for it to turn on.

I want to know from you guys is it's possible to prevent the screen from going off from the very first boot.

So it's basically 1)boot 2)logo (screen on) 3)logo (screen off) 4)wait 1min for the screen to turn back on, even if the system is fully loaded!!!

My point is to disable step3, to prevent the screen from going black.

PS: I'm using a laptop.

Thank you!
