I've installed Ubuntu plenty of times, and have always been able to preserve data in disk partitions when installing. No problems.
Is there any problems with trying to preserve data in logical volumes in LVM? This configuration has all or nearly all of the data in LVM volumes, and I want to use one for / (as it is already) and refresh it; the rest I want to keep as they are. Is there any problems I should watch out for? Has anyone had problem with this type of setup?
