I've just switched from Arch Linux to Ubuntu 12.04 as my OS and I am in the process of setting my fresh Ubuntu installation, and I've to edit some files and what not to tweak some somethings, but, every time a invoke gvim from my terminal emulator it switches to another virtual desktop. I suspected the issue was in my gvim alias which was invoking gvim with geometry of 1280x800, but no the issue is in the .vimrc file at the guifont option, if I set it Gvim keeps switching to a virtual desktop, if I unset It behaves normally which uses a ugly font that I don't like, I wanna to keep using my current font.
Does someone knows why this is happening? I tried quote the guifont value or assign it a spaceless font name but It keeps the same.
