You can download Mobile Media Converter from their site. This is a direct link to their .deb package DEB. All their source code and bug tracking is done via their LaunchPad page LP though it doesn't appear they have a PPA setup yet.

thanks! Unfortunately the file I wanted to convert (.amr) was not recognized. I'm using the ffmpeg -i command line – Daniel P Bartolo Dec 11 '10 at 19:25
