i recently installed Lyx using Ubuntu Software Center. But when i click on LyX icon in Dash Home to ran it, it shows me following error:

Unable to determine the system directory having searched
    /usr/local/share/lyx/
Use the '-sysdir' command line parameter or set the environment variable
LYX_DIR_20x to the LyX system directory containing the file `chkconfig.ltx'.

What is the problem? how can i solve that?

also i want to add following information: 1- before installing LyX with ubuntu software center, i tried to compile it from source but i couldn't, in this process i think it make some files and folders in my system. 2- i tried to reinstall it in synaptic, but reinstalling didn't solve the problem.
