Can I not load Ubuntu with out a Windows o/s? I've tried loading the disc that I created but it will not load on the laptop that is having the o/s issues.

Have you change the boot sequence in the BIOS? – Peachy Jul 28 '12 at 15:30

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

In the BIOS setup, in the boot order. Set the CD-ROM as the first boot device. Make the hard disk the second boot device.
