Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I want to hide the launcher completely. I want it to pops up only when I press the Super key.

My problem is, I use Cairo-dock and use auto-hide feature of Launcher, but the launcher pops up, whenever I launch an application from my dock, and it's annoying.

I use Cairo-Dock and Unity 2D.

I'd suggest you to use custom cairo-dock session which have no unity launchers. See cairo dock site. I also politely want to inform you that, if you install cairo-dock, it will automatically add a session entry where you can log on with cairo dock launchers – Anwar Jul 28 '12 at 13:49

@imwrng It's not dupe. The question in your link was about configuring unity launcher autohide settings. But the OP here using Unity 2D and it seems it already managed to auto hide it – Anwar Jul 28 '12 at 13:57
