It's my first time to use Ubuntu. I appreciate it if you don't use very technical terms.
My Ubuntu is in dual boot with Windows 7. So when I open my laptop, it asks me to choose between Windows 7 or Ubuntu. Then I would select Ubuntu.
After that, it prompts me with 3 choices:
- Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-27-generic-pae
- Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-27-generic-pae (recovery mode)
- Previous Linux Versions
Whenever I select the first, the screen goes purple, then after a while it will turn black. Then I would hear the familiar sound of logging-in but still the screen is black.
But when I select recovery mode, I could get past through the logging-in part then to my desktop. (like right now). But there seems to be a problem with the resolution. Everything just got bigger.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 4736Z with the following specifications:
- Memory: 1.9GiB
- Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-core CPU t4200 @2.00 GHz x 2
- Graphics: VESA: Intel(r) Cantiga Graphics
- OS Type: 32-bit
- Disk: 31.1 GB
