Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am unsure of the hardware for the system I am installing on. It is a 5 or 6 year old server. I do know it has a dual core AMD 64 bit processor and 2 GB of RAM (I am installing the 64 bit version of the desktop OS).

The 160 GB OS drive is on the IDE channel and I put in 3 SATA drives for storage. The 160 GB drive is showing as being SCSI5 (0,0,0) (sdd) if that matters at all. I found a fix for this issue for a previous version of Ubuntu that called for making sure it had no Internet connection, but this has not changed the behavior at all.

I can still move the mouse, I can still change where I am located, but the mouse always shows that it is busy and it does not recognize me clicking 'Continue'. I have let it sit for 45 minutes twice now, once with Internet access and once without and it just seems to do nothing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
