One day I had broken interface of nautilus (just because, without a reason). I uninstalled nautilus and by the way, that screwed unity desktop. Now gnome desktop appears when I boot, even though unity is suposed to be default. Also, at the users login screen, the options of unity disappeared.

I can get to unity by "unity --reset", but the terminal gets blocked with the following text, and when I close the terminal "interrupting" the process, unity is back (the terminal text is as showed below). And then spontaneously, gnome is working wrong, or making mistakes so I have to reset, or unity is suddenly gone... A mess. I have tried several solutions from this web, still didn't work.

I am quite newcomer, and moreover I can't format the computer due to work reasons. Someone could have any idea what is happening? Thanks a lot!!!

At the login screen which Desktop environment do you select? – Nick Jul 24 '12 at 11:32
Here's a solution: askubuntu.com/questions/131016/… – Ramon Suarez Jul 24 '12 at 11:35
I guess you should file a bug report , error itself says that compiz (core) - Warn: this should never happen. you should probably file a bug about this. Starting unity-window-decorator – tijybba Jul 24 '12 at 11:45
Hi! thanks for your answers! :D In the login screen it only offers me both gnome options ("gnome classic" and "gnome classic without effects"). There are no unity options :S Thanks! – hombrefalso Jul 26 '12 at 8:25
