I am re-installing Ubuntu on a different hard-disk. Is there a simple way to backup icon position on desktop and launcher and restore it when I install a new hard disk?

If you back up your entire /home folder and restore it on your new system, you will retain all of your settings. – Paddy Landau Jul 21 '12 at 19:09
