I have Ubuntu 11.10 installed and just recently i cant paste ANYTHING outside the home folder be it an external drive different partition on the same drive. Please i need help

How did you paste? Have you tried copying from the terminal with the cp command? – Peachy Jul 21 '12 at 15:19
In the title you say root folder but in the text you say home folder so I'm assuming you are logged in as a normal user and not root. In order to copy files to other locations (outside the home folder) you usually need special privileges. – StarNamer Jul 21 '12 at 23:41
