I have 12.04 x64 server installed on a new ironsystems (super micro board) machine. Anytime I try to reboot the machine (I've used reboot, shutdown -r, init 6) the machine shutsdown instead of rebooting. I need to deploy this machine to a datacenter so not being able to reboot is kind of an issue. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I've got the same issue. Did you ever figure anything out? –  PherricOxide Oct 31 '12 at 22:16

Bit late for you probably, but the following fixed my problem: ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2024096 –  PherricOxide Oct 31 '12 at 22:57

possible duplicate of Reboot only shuts down and doesn't actually boot again –  Eric Carvalho Jul 1 at 13:49
