Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I frequently make backups of my home folder by using the root shell in Ubuntu's recovery mode. However, after doing this, the time has changed a couple of hours, both on Ubuntu and Windows. It happens on multiple systems I'm owning. I presume that this might have something to do with daylight saving time or even timezone, but I'm not sure.

How can I prevent this time change?
