Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I had this working perfectly, mostly on a networked Ubuntu machine, using Thunderbird for mail (wife's computer) connection was through a Linksys adapter plugged in, no wireless card in machine, slow but ok for e-mail.

Primary computer Telus.com and Telus8005 wireless identified on startup but just churns away without connecting. Gone into server setup but no luck changing anything. Telus no help, don't help Linux. Telus router indicates wireless setup for machine in question but no connection.

Editing of account settings in Thunderbird indicates BSSID needed to enter but ???

What Ubuntu version? Please provide better description of brand and model(s) or PC, software, and brand/model of USB, Ethernet, WiFi connectivity and topology. (Otherwise we might just be guessing.) – david6 Jul 14 '12 at 0:10
