Both of my computers sync files successfully through Ubuntu One; but when I open the Software Centre and click File > Sync between computers, only the local machine shows up in the left hand panel. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Both computers show the same behaviour.

Have you configured the package list sync on both computers? Note that while the Software Centre synchronisation feature shares the same authentication infrastructure as Ubuntu One, that is where it ends. The backend services aren't related, and neither is the client software. – James Henstridge Aug 7 '12 at 7:21
