My Windows partition is appearing in the sidebar of nautilus under the label of "Devices". Its tooltip is "Mount and Open ". To my understanding, this should mount the volume when i click it. However, nothing happens when I click the onto it.

Is this normal behaviour? If no, how can I fix it?

It is not normal. Try running Nautilus in a terminal and look at the output it gives when you then try to mount your device. – Janus Reith Jul 8 '12 at 22:09
This doesn't fully answer the question, perhaps you mean for this to be a comment asking for more details? – ObsessiveSSOℲ Jul 8 '12 at 22:10
When i just execute the command 'nautilus' in terminal, it just starts nautilus and then goes back to bash. No further error output. – Zulakis Jul 8 '12 at 22:12
the error should appear when you try to mount the volume. @ObsessiveFOSS: Sry, seems like I misunderstood the concept... – Janus Reith Jul 8 '12 at 22:17
No error is appearing. It is just staying in the currently opened folder. – Zulakis Jul 8 '12 at 22:23

Somehow, it suddenly started working again. Weird.
