I have a Seagate 500 gb external HDD. When I connect it to my laptop it gets detected but when I click the icon to open it, it states Drive needs to be formatted. If I say OK then after some time it states drive cannot be formatted. Finally i got this error in Ubuntu:
error fsyncing/closing /dev/sdb input/output error
Can please anyone help me? It has my thesis data and other valuable data of my past three years of research!
