Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am using Ubuntu 11.04 with jboss-4.0.3, eclipse, helios, and JDK 6 (jdk1.6.0_31).

I am using a Core i3 processor and 4 GB of RAM.

When I start Eclipse and jBoss they use almost all my memory. When i checked the available memory it shows me ~30-50 MB free.

After this point, my system always hangs.

I increased the virtual memory of eclipse & jboss but it did work for me.

Can anyone please tell what I have to do to prevent this problem?
