I am very new to Ubuntu. I have an Epson SX115 All-in-One Printer. I use the Ubuntu 12.04 OS. I can print in it but how do I make the scanner on the printer work?

There are successful approaches reported on UbuntuForums and again UbuntuForums. Hopefully one of those approaches provide your solution. Drivers for your Multi Functional Device on Linux are available at Avasys, and could also provide some help.

Although a link is often useful, it is better to at least summarise it's content in case the link breaks. – Minos Oct 10 '14 at 11:43

in the terminal paste

dpkg -i epson-inkjet-printer-epsom-inkjet-printer-Epson Stylus T13

in the printer setting page the printer device URI

if connected to usb and local printer(T13 is my modedl no) this works for me
