I got a hp Compaq nx6320 laptop computer without hard disc drive(bios doesn't recognize the hard disc unit). I was looking for a software which give the option to install it in an external hard disc.

Before buying it I tried with a 8 GB pen drive. . I finally can do it with the Ubuntu 6.10 version, but somebody told me that this is a very old version.

I try to do it straight with the 12 version but I can't. I try to upgrade the 6.10 version and I cant to.

If somebody can help me i will appreciate. Thanks.

I doubt that 6.10 can ever be upgraded to 12.04. BTW why you can't install 12.04. – tijybba Jul 4 '12 at 11:07
