I placed my php files in htdocs but I don't know where to find them in xammp menu. I installed it and am able to navigate xammp when I type localhost on the web browser.

The problem is that I can't see my files them in xammp, is there anything I need to do to run and test my files?

Check your httpd.conf and if xammp is running. What do you see when you go to "localhost" ? – max246 Jul 4 '12 at 13:42
