It works on shutdown but doesn't show up at boot.
Ubuntu 12.04 x64
Intel GMA 4500M HD with default driver
3.4.0-030400-generic kernel

An extra question - what is the point of having plymouth if it doesn't work more often than not? I've used Ubuntu from 11.04 to 12.04 on at least 4 hardware configurations and for each one of them plymouth stopped working sooner or later.

@fossfreedom I wouldn't know. Besides, for him it starts during boot at least. – Bucic Jul 1 '12 at 21:28
