I try to watch a DVD with the VLC player but without success. I tried two other DVDs and it worked. I wonder if you can provide me with a guidance of how to watch a DVD when some difficulty occurs.

It may be some errors in the DVD disc itself. Try that DVD on some other system. – Anwar Jun 30 '12 at 10:09
