Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am running 12.04 studio on an asus pc. When I log on, I have to press F1 to continue.

I am using a USB keyboard and get an error message saying "keyboard interface error press F1 to continue."

Is there any way around this please?

Are you sure this is not a BIOS message? Is it really after you log on (ie, enter your name and password at the Ubuntu login)? Sounds awfully like that. There are probably settings in the BIOS to fix this if it is, but it is computer-specific, and has nothing to do with any operating system. –  Marty Fried Jun 26 '12 at 15:45

This is problem with hardware. If your BIOS supports it you can bypass preliminary checks. Any this is off topic. –  Web-E Jun 26 '12 at 16:01
