I have two damaged hard drives one external, and I'm running my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on the other!

So the problem is that I couldn't repair it , i tried GParted , mkfs and nothing helps.

I saw a question similar to this here , but the response isn't what i'm looking for ! because in windows the command CHKDSK doesn't work for me!

You might want to try this. Be sure to boot from Live CD to check your main disk.

OK thanks everybody i solved that !
For whom who have the same problem there a solution :

  • Make ext2 filesystem using mkfs.ext2
  • Then Run fsck
  • Format the disk under Windows

Thanks all of you !
