How do I resolve unmet dependencies?

![packages with unmet dependencies][1] This is on a machine with 12.04. Can someone help me with this please? I can't open software center so I tried reinstalling it and I get the same message I get when I want to install wine. Thank you.

This question has been asked before and already has an answer. If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question.

Can you be more specific, please? What did you do prior to seeing this message? Where do you see it? What are you trying to do? –  int_ua Jun 23 '12 at 3:03

If you have unmet dependencies, usually you can fix it quickly with a single command in the terminal.
Try opening the terminal and run:

sudo apt-get -f install

That command will attempt to try to find and install any missing dependencies.

If it says something like "cannot get a lock" then make sure the software center, updater, synaptic (if installed), or any other application that manages your packages is closed. Worse case, reboot and try the command again.

I hope that fixes your problem!
