I'm using ubuntu 12.04 and want to re-arranging my hard drive.

I need to select files from several locations and ultimately want to paste/move these files to a single destination.

You can do this with Piky basket in Windows.

Are there any similar tools available for ubuntu?

I can't find any packages that do this graphically at the moment - although you could script it - but I like the idea so I'm going to try writing one for the Ubuntu app showdown. I'm not much of a coder so I might not manage it, but I'll post the link as an answer here if I do. I encourage others to do the same! – Garry Cairns Jun 22 '12 at 14:03
