Trying to install XBMC with 12.04 on my HTPC (Asus Eee Box EB1012) plugged into a Sony Bravia.

The display is flicking off then back on again every 6 or 7 seconds.

  • It was running karmic and xbmc earlier and it was fine (although I may have done some adjustments - but that was 3 years ago!)
  • Installed XBMC Eden with Windows 7 Pro and it was fine
  • Problem occurs immediately with 12.04 Desktop install (incl. during installation)

Is there some configuration or installation need to do?

Sounds like a problems with your VGA/Display driver. Are you sure you have them installed/updated to the latest version? – upapilot Jun 20 '12 at 5:46
Yep, I found out I needed to change my driver to the NVidia one that showed as "recommended" but inactive :) Thanks! – DaveO Jun 20 '12 at 9:07
