When I install some app from Software Center or just download Dropbox folder system begins to freeze: almost all running apps stop working and cursor freezes.

How to recognize a problem?

System: 12.04 LTS 64-bit (installed with wubi on the sdd with windows 7) Motherboard: Asus Commando CPU: Q6600

4Gb. IntelliJ IDEA works fine and Chrome with 10-20 tabs also. Freezes appeared even when I installed Skype. When Skype was installed freezes disappeared. –  Fox in socks Jun 16 '12 at 15:26

A Wubi system's performance is not as good as when you do a complete install. I too used Wubi for quite some time. It gave me similar nightmares. Better to do a complete install, also update your system, most of the problems won't exist.

P.S. How much Ram you have? Any graphics card?

System is completely updated. Graphics card is ATI HD4850. RAM 4Gb –  Fox in socks Jun 16 '12 at 15:19
