I have x220 with intel integrated video HD 3000.
TTy and login screen works ok, until I start a game in fullscreen mode. Then login screen and tty1-6 will go black and blank. Since I use fingerprint to login, after login tty7 goes blank, too.
Restart fixes the problem back to normal.
PS Side info - playing some windows games via wine does not lead to this behavior.
