Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am shifting my host so I want to delete everything on it without actually harming/deleting o.s files so system keep's on running as if ubuntu is freshly installed .

I could have deleted my files manually but I want to know if there is an easy alternative .

Thanks.

Do you mean delete all your personal files? Just move everything in your home directory, make a new user and delete your old one. – NoBugs Jun 9 '12 at 17:37
