I've installed a bunch of packages and made customizations, aliases, etc.
How can I create an .iso for Ubuntu that has my current state? Without any /home directories so it's fairly compact.
fyi - I have an ultrabook so the .iso needs to go onto a USB tick but that's not difficult, the main challenge is to create the .ISO in the first place !
Remastersys looks great but I couldn't find how to get it, all I'm seeing in the Software Center is a Deutsch thing!
The gui gave me:
apt-get install gave me:
sudo apt-get install remastersys Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package remastersys
I tried "ISO creater" but it's not intuitive or maybe a program that will do it at all anyway.
I see that Ubuntu 12 has remastersys and it look like my option "would" be here with the Distribution option:
I tried following these instructions:
and I added the sources like this:
but still I get:
sudo apt-get install remastersys
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package remastersys
