I need some input before I post a bug report on this.

The problem:

I have a dual boot installation of Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04. When rebooting from Windows to Ubuntu, the mouse clicks does not always register. To be more precise, it seems that a certain kind of actions simply does not register.

When booting into KDE, klicking the main button brings forward the menu, but I can not click on any of the submenus etc.

In Unity, launching firefox from the Launcher works, but moving the window by dragging the border does not.

If I would describe it in a simple manner it seems that "primary" functions are working, but when in the specific program "secondary" (actions regarding that "layer") does not work.

Also, it seems that alt-tabbing does not work properly - so it might not be limited to just the mouse but to all input methods.

I usually have to shut down the computer a couple of times before the problem goes away.

I have confirmed similar behavior in Unity, Unity2d, Gnome classic (with and without compiz), Kde, Awesome WM.

This problem does not appear on the same hardware when using a single installation of Ubuntu and no dual boot.

The bug appears in both Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Arch Linux (last time I tried, a couple of months ago).

Where should I report this, and against what package? I can't seem to find any matching bugs.
