I would like to build my own Ubuntu based distro. I am using Live CD customization tutorial in the Ubuntu help pages, and also using remastering software.

I have a few concerns, basically legal.

I have a 12.04 installation, and I installed Ubiquity and Ubiquity-Slideshow. Which files need to be edited to change "all" Ubuntu related text and logos? I found logo.png in the pixmap folder of Ubiquity. I have changed it to my logo. What about changing the logos in slideshow slides, and editing the slides?

Out of curiosity, why your own distribution? – Thorbjørn Ravn Andersen May 28 '12 at 8:53
@izx, sorry that, I forgot to mark the answers. – Roshan George May 28 '12 at 10:00
@ThorbjørnRavnAndersen There is no paricular reason. Just to try out how the distros are being made. – Roshan George May 28 '12 at 10:01

Ok - because if your goal was to repackage for a specific purpose, there are easier ways to do that. Good luck with the project :) – Thorbjørn Ravn Andersen May 28 '12 at 10:05
@ThorbjørnRavnAndersen I had an idea to develop a fully media center OS. I thought of using the tutorial to develop a custom distro from live cd, using a tutorial in Ubuntu help pages., but was stuck here with my question of legal issues... – Roshan George May 28 '12 at 10:16
