I've been looking around for an answer to this problem for awhile now and I've not found one yet. I've a Live USB of Ubuntu 12.04 currently, but I can't seem to dual boot it. I originally had Windows 7. The problem is, when I try to partition my C: drive inside of Ubuntu, it tells me An error occurred while writing the changes to the storage devices. The resize operation was aborted.

I need to know how I can get around this and partition it for Ubuntu.

Have you seen this answer? Did you unmount your partitions before resizing? – Takkat May 27 '12 at 19:35
