I have installed Cinnamon, logged off the current session, logged in the Cinnamon session, copied the menu.png to my ~ folder, and set it as the menu image and the menu still isn't displayed.

askubuntu can provide support for unity, kde, xfce and lxde. Since cinnamon is created FOR mint, hence you should head to mint forum for its support or go to cinnamon website. – Ravi May 27 '12 at 13:37
can I move this post to superuser? – Remus Rigo May 27 '12 at 13:42
umm.. I think yes. but search linux mint forum and see that if others people have same problem.... – Ravi May 27 '12 at 13:47
If Cinnamon was installed via the launchpad PPA, then this is On Topic for Ubuntu. I do not see any value to move this to Super User. – fossfreedom May 27 '12 at 18:20
