i had gotten the message today wile trying to play DC universe: Online from steam right after i finished downloading it. i only get as far to see the Sony Online Entertainment logo before i get a message from the Wine Windows Program Loader saying that Wine crashed and "Internal Errors - Invalid Parameters Received"

after asking for help through my common forum and steam forum it seemed no-one knew anything about my problem: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2-off-topic/topics/268815-been-having-more-problems-with-steam-ubuntu-dcu-online http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2718788

Finally, on steam, someone responded, generally saying that this was the wrong place to ask for help on this topic; Not that it was the wrong place in the forum but that not many people in forums like these know much about my problem and suggested that i go to a forum special to ubuntu or linux.

everything i have done recently that is relevant to this 1. yesterday i downloaded wine and playonlinux to later download steam. 2. steam general tutorial told me to update my flash player so i did, i later found out that i had a 32 bit computer. although i think i downloaded everything correctly for an ubuntu user i still cannot view certain things on steam. 3. i went through the tutorial on how to install DC Universe: Online game and i think i did it correctly considering i was not told what to do as an Ubuntu user. when i tried to play the game after downloading i only see the sony online entertainment logo on a black background before i get a thing from the Wine Windiws Program Loader (That came with PlayOnLinux) telling me Wine crashes and "Internal Errors - Invalid Parameters Received". the Sony Online entertainment logo stays with its black background stays on the background of my computer desktop (unless i click on it than it will move to the top of the screen)

here is a picture of it http://i48.tinypic.com/141n3s.png for some reason i am not able to take a screenshot of the thing that tells me "Internal Errors - Invalid Parameters Received"

Trying to get the game to work so far has been frustrating now i am just looking to find a way to safely remove the game from my compute, since i can't play it.

But what i am really wandering is what does it mean when the Wine Windows Program Loader crashes repeatedly in doing a specific thing with the message "Internal Errors - Invalid parameters received"? when looking for help on this i found that i am not the only person who has received this message, many other people have similar problems with wine only it crashes on different things.

what is usually the problem in this case?

Just gotta say, im working on it atm. I've done some research and have found out that it has something to do with the internal programs you have corunning with the viritual drive. Highligheted programs that has gotten my attention and im looking into now is Fonts, IE6, and eventually Direct X. If i find out something ill post a guide and hopefully you might aswell. – user67698 Jun 1 '12 at 12:58
