Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

When I start Gimp, it shows up in the launcher briefly, vibrates, then disappears. It's also missing from Alt+Tab. Super+W shows it though. Is there a fix?

I just installed it on 12.04, and it works OK. How did you install it? –  Mitch May 24 '12 at 6:14
Do you use Gimp 2.6 (default version in 12.04)? What you described happens to me sometimes after I installed Gimp 2.8. –  Jakob May 24 '12 at 9:56
