I've got a trouble: it seems, that my 3d video drivers doesn't work properly (perhaps they are removed at all). For example, virtual machines (in the VirtualBox) with the support of 3d acceleration don't launch on my notebook. The error is following:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows XP.

This VM was configured to use 3D acceleration. However, the 3D support of the host is not working properly and the VM cannot be started. To fix this problem, either fix the host 3D support (update the host graphics driver?) or disable 3D acceleration in the VM settings (VERR_NOT_AVAILABLE).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) Component: Console Interface: IConsole {1968b7d3-e3bf-4ceb-99e0-cb7c913317bb}

My videocard is integrated in the Intel processor (Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6200 @ 2.13GHz). I've tried to find the drivers over the Internet by myself, but failed. Maybe somebody knows, what shall I do to reactivate the 3d acceleration on my machine?

Older Intel graphics and 3d don't really go together - and by older, I mean prior to 2011. Even if some might have basic 3d capabilities, they aren't going to be enough for VirtualBox. I am afraid you'll have to invest in a more capable and better supported graphics card, Nvidia, AMD. As for the driver, 12.04 has the latest stable driver from Intel included. You don't need to install anything.

The matter is that approximately 2 days before everything (including VirtualBox) worked perfectly. But it seems that I've made something wrong and now the system works invalid... – Qwertyu Wertyu May 21 '12 at 12:23
Ah, I see, but what did you do? – mikewhatever May 21 '12 at 13:01
Well, I've tried to launch a Second Life game client. Actually, after I launched it, I've got a message that my system parameters aren't enough for using the client. I ignored it and after a login attempt the client crashed. So I had decided that the problem is in my graphics (I thought my OS has no OpenGL support) and installed NVidia video driver (from the software manager). After that the problems with 3D accelerations began. The removing of the NVidia drivers didn't solve the problem. – Qwertyu Wertyu May 21 '12 at 13:12
