I'm a newbe in Ubuntu and I'm trying to install 12.04. Neither the live CD nor the Live USB helped me to do so. Whether I try to run or install from CD or USB, the loading screen stops on Ubuntu logo screen, The one with the loading dots. Once the boot screen reaches this point the dots stop moving (loading).

Do you please have any suggestions?

Could you try again and hit Ctrl-Alt-F1 when it pauses? (If you have an Fn button on the keyboard, hold that too) What do you see when you try that? –  Jacob Johan Edwards May 19 '12 at 22:48

What hardware do you have? Pretty old, or pretty new? 64bit or 32? If old, what CPU, how many RAM? Laptop, desktop, server? Alternatively to JJEs suggestion, at next boot, pass the parameters "noquiet nosplash" or remove "quiet splash" from the kernel parameters list. –  user unknown May 20 '12 at 0:40
